Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, otherwise known as Lewis Carroll, was the author of the original Wonderland novels that were based on the nonsensical stories he told to Alice Liddell and her sisters Edith and Lorina. Dodgson was a very skilled mathematician and highly imaginative man. There is a real-life mystery that surrounds him known as the "Liddell Riddle," in which Alice's mother became concerned to the point where she stopped Dodgson from seeing Alice entirely.
