The Military Disarmament Act was a law passed by the Galactic Senate of the New Republic near the end of the Galactic Civil War between the Republic and the Galactic Empire. The legislation severely limited the makeup and operations of the Republic's Defense Fleet and army, reducing the overall size of the centralized military by ninety percent.
