The show achieved a level of political notoriety in the 1992 presidential election when then Vice-President Dan Quayle mentioned the show in a campaign speech, known as the "Murphy Brown speech". In "A Picture's Worth a Thousand Bucks", former Murphy Brown stars Candice Bergen (as Murphy), Faith Ford (as Corky Sherwood), Joe Regalbuto (as Frank Fontana), and Charles Kimbrough (as Jim Dial) inject dated “buzzwords” into a nondescript conversation, poking fun at the show’s topical humor. Stewie mentions Murphy Brown's pregnancy while delivering his and Brian's babies in "Stewie Is Enceinte".
