The Craigslist ad controversy was an incident in which Jason Fortuny (known by his screenname "RFJason") posted an add on the Seattle branch of Craigslist claiming to be a twenty-seven year old woman looking for rough sex with men and using a false portrait. Within twenty-four hours, he had 178 replies to his add, many including real names, phone numbers, and pictures of faces and penes. Fortuny took this information and these pictures and posted them on Encyclopedia Dramatica, a wiki website devoted to cataloging cyberculture.
