Mulhearney was the last name of the guard stationed at Walter Kovacs' cell in the solitary wing of Sing Sing prison when Kovacs was incarcerated there. Mulhearney had a wife and child, a fact that Big Figure took advantage of when he met with Kovacs shortly after his imprisonment. Big Figure gained access to Kovacs' cell by threatening Mulhearney's family.
