Count Vorsmythe was a District Count on Barrayar, and head of the Vorsmythe family. He was involved with or a member of the Progressive Party; he voted for both René Vorbretten and Dono Vorrutyer in their cases before the Council of Counts. A large party was held at Vorsmythe House with many Counts in attendance; this was to be the site of Byerly Vorrutyer's plan to incriminate his cousin Richars Vorrutyer in attacking Dono, and so engineer a large sympathy vote for Dono.
