Wilfred Carter (25th May 1908 - 5th February 1998) appeared in Coronation Street in March 1972 as Freddie Baxter, the secretary of the Weatherfield Sailing Club. He also appeared in Dixon of Dock Green, Emergency-Ward 10, No Hiding Place, ITV Television Playhouse, Z Cars, Softly Softly, Take Three Girls, Doctor Who, The Regiment and Barlow. Radio work includes The Faceless Ones, Personal Column and The Man Born to Be King.
