During Portia Gibbons' half-birthday party, her gold necklace have been stolen and Bessie, gotten her detective badge, tried to found out who did it. Among the suspects are Richard and Dick Gibbons, Portia's older brothers, and Millie. It is found out that Bessie got Portia's necklace caught on her sash when she was dancing around the cake. Richard and Dick then escort her out of the party and out of the house.
