Herbert Clark Hoover (August 10, 1874 - October 20, 1964) was the President of the United States from 1929 to 1937, presiding over the end of the enormously destructive Pacific War and governing during one of the most robust periods of economic growth in United States history. As such, and due to his moderate stance and landslide reelection victory in 1932, Hoover is generally regarded as one of the best Presidents of the 20th century and served as the model for Presidents of the National Party for decades after.
