The Gavlin was an award given for outstanding reporting and journalism. Ozla Graniv, reporter for Seeker on Trill, won the Gavlin for her exposé on the Orion Syndicate, which earned her a promotion to the Seeker's correspondent to the Palais de la Concorde. (ST novel: Articles of the Federation) It is unclear whether the Gavlin honors only Trill reporters, or is inclusive or other worlds.
