Alkene was a Tholian who once held the rank of admiral in the Tholian Assembly. Gul Skrain Dukat had a mural with Alkene on it in Quark's aboard Terok Nor. It remained even when the space station became Deep Space 9. (DS9 - Millennium novel: The Fall of Terok Nor)
