The Liberation of Numinal, at times also referred to as the Reconquest of Numinal, is a major battle that took place in the distant border region between the Segmentum Obscurus and the Ultima Segmentum in the first years of the Horus Heresy. Known as the Coronid Deeps, this region almost entirely fell into the hands of the Traitors during the first year of the galactic civil war known as the Horus Heresy. Following the defeats of local Imperial Commanders during the dire events of the Scouring of the Cyclops Cluster, the Manachean War or the Treachery at Port Maw, the Liberation of Numinal was the first strategic victory of the Loyalist camp since the infamous Gethsamaine Raid which constituted, at best, a pyrrhic victory for Loyalist forces.
