An earring in the shape of a cross was regularly worn by Gloria Torres as a good luck charm. The cross was taken by Daniel Crimmins after he shot and killed Torres on 9 February 1998. Crimmins later planted the earring, a cufflink, and a photograph on a boat belonging to FBI profiler Terry McCaleb.
