Hogwarts ist eine Schule für Hexerei und Zauberei im Norden der Britischen Insel, in der Kinder mit magischen Fähigkeiten während ihrer siebenjährigen Schulzeit in der Zauberkunst unterwiesen werden. Dieses Internat ist der wichtigste Schauplatz der Geschichte. In Hogwarts gibt es die vier konkurrierenden Schulhäuser Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw und Slytherin. Harry wird - wie seine beiden Freunde Hermine Granger (engl. Hermione) und Ron Weasley - dem Haus Gryffindor zugewiesen. Gegenpart des Hauses Gryffindor, als dessen Haupttugend der Mut gilt, ist traditionell das Haus Slytherin, das eine große Nähe zur schwarzen Magie besitzt und aufgrund des häufig bösartigen Verhaltens seiner Mitglieder auch bei den anderen Häusern unbeliebt ist. Ein Schüler aus dem Haus Slytherin ist Draco Malfoy, der sehr schnell zu Harrys Erzfeind in Hogwarts wird. Jeder Band der Reihe umfasst ein Schuljahr in Hogwarts. Die Handlung der Romane spielt jeweils auf zwei Ebenen. Eine Ebene umfasst den Schulalltag und die Abenteuer, die Harry, Hermine und Ron während eines jeden Jahres erleben. Zumeist kommen die drei dabei einem Geheimnis auf die Spur, das im Finale jedes Bandes jeweils gelüftet wird. Neben diesen jeweils abgeschlossenen Episoden gewinnt im Verlauf der Bände jedoch zunehmend die zweite Ebene an Bedeutung, auf der die Feindschaft zwischen Harry und Voldemort im Mittelpunkt steht. Voldemort erstarkt nämlich im Laufe von Harrys Schulzeit wieder und wird zu dessen eigentlichem Gegenspieler. Dieser Handlungsstrang verbindet die einzelnen Bände miteinander, in denen jeweils immer etwas mehr von der Vorgeschichte bekannt wird, die zur Ermordung von Harrys Eltern geführt hat. Abgeschlossen sein wird diese Rahmenhandlung jedoch erst mit dem Ende des letzten Bandes. Nach dem Todestag des Geistes Fast Kopfloser Nick zu schließen (in Band 2 besuchen Harry und seine Freunde seine 500. Todestagsfeier [1492-1992]), sind die Romane in den Jahren 1991/92 bis 1997/98 angesiedelt. Jedoch scheinen andere Zeitangaben in den Romanen wie Wochentage, wenn man sie für die jeweiligen Jahre nachrechnet, dieser Annahme zu widersprechen. Literarische Bedeutung Das fiktive Gleis 9¾ im Bahnhof King’s Cross vergrößern Das fiktive Gleis 9¾ im Bahnhof King’s Cross Der Reiz der Romane und deren Erfolg resultiert aus mehreren Faktoren. Sympathisch ist zunächst einmal die Hauptfigur Harry, der sich als Vollwaise fremd in seiner Adoptivfamilie fühlt, dann aber entdeckt, dass er eigentlich zur Welt der Zauberer gehört. Dieses Motiv der Fremdheit in der eigenen und Flucht in eine andere Welt ist in der Kinder- und Jugendliteratur weit verbreitet (z.B. in der Unendlichen Geschichte von Michael Ende). Anders als beim klassischen Fantasyroman ist diese Welt jedoch nicht durchgehend phantastisch, sondern vielmehr als – oftmals satirisch überhöhte - Parallelwelt zur Realität gezeichnet. Weiterhin ist es die Handlung der einzelnen Bände selbst, die im Stile einer Detektivgeschichte von Geheimnissen leben, die nach vielen irreführenden Andeutungen und Hinweisen schließlich von den Freunden Harry, Hermine und Ron gelüftet werden. Eingebettet ist dies in das allmähliche Erwachsenwerden Harrys, der im Laufe der Bände seine Pubertät durchläuft und zunehmend ein realistischeres Bild seiner Umwelt wie auch seiner selbst gewinnt. Und schließlich ist Harry Potter nicht nur ein Entwicklungsroman, sondern auch eine Rachegeschichte, in der es um die Vergeltung des Mords an Harrys Eltern geht. Lokomotive im Stil der Zugmaschine des „Hogwarts-Express“ vergrößern Lokomotive im Stil der Zugmaschine des „Hogwarts-Express“ Obwohl die Harry-Potter-Reihe noch nicht vollendet ist (der 7. und letzte Band steht noch aus) und seit dem Erscheinen des 1. Bandes noch keine zehn Jahre zurückliegen, gilt der Romanzyklus bereits als moderner Klassiker. Dafür spricht nicht zuletzt die Beliebtheit der Bände über alle Altersgruppen hinweg, was im Begriff des sogenannten All-age-Genres zum Ausdruck kommt. Kritik Kritisiert wurden die Harry-Potter-Bücher häufig von christlich-fundamentalistischen Gruppen, die darin eine Verharmlosung und Verbreitung von Okkultismus sehen; dieser Vorwurf wurde von Joanne K. Rowling jedoch als unsinnig zurückgewiesen. Ursächlich dafür mögen wohl auch literarische Wortspiele mit christlich-lateinischer Anspielung sein, wie beispielsweise einer der drei unverzeihlichen Flüche, der Cruciatus-Fluch (lat. cruciatus, Folter, Qual, Marter, Kreuzigung). Dabei wird zum einen die kirchliche Dreifaltigkeit in Bezug genommen (Vater, Sohn, Heiliger Geist), zum anderen aber auch die Kreuzigung. Der aufmerksame Leser der englischen Fassungen merkt schnell, dass die Autorin besonders bei Namensgebungen ein Faible für Wortspiele hat. Ein Beispiel hierfür ist „Diagon Alley“, die englische Bezeichnung der Winkelgasse. Zusammengezogen und bereinigt erhält man das Wort „diagonally“, das im Deutschen mit „diagonal“ übersetzt wird. Weiterhin stehen die Romane auch wegen ihrer für Kinder- und Jugendliteratur außergewöhnlich drastischen Gewaltdarstellungen in der Kritik. Unter anderem wird kritisiert, dass Harry Potter schon als Elfjähriger in kriegsähnliche Geschehnisse involviert ist und einzelne Kämpfe auf Leben und Tod in die ganz normale Schulunterrichts-Punktewertung eingehen. Auch bei vielen anderen Gelegenheiten gehören Lebensgefahr und Grausamkeiten zum ganz normalen Schulalltag der Kinder – ein aus Sicht der Kritiker nicht ganz unproblematisches Vorbild. Die Verfilmungen fallen durch nicht wenige allein schon optisch höchst absonderliche und besonders bei kleineren Kindern Angst und Schrecken hervorrufende Phantasiewesen auf. Romane Die sieben Bände des Zyklus entsprechen den sieben Schuljahren in Hogwarts. Bisher sind sechs Bände erschienen (in Klammern jeweils Originaltitel und Ersterscheinungsjahr): 1. Harry Potter und der Stein der Weisen (Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, US-Titel: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, 1997) 2. Harry Potter und die Kammer des Schreckens (Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, 1998) 3. Harry Potter und der Gefangene von Askaban (Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, 1999) 4. Harry Potter und der Feuerkelch (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, 2000) 5. Harry Potter und der Orden des Phönix (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, 2003) 6. Harry Potter und der Halbblutprinz (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, 2005) 2001 erschienen von Joanne K. Rowling zugunsten der Hilfsorganisation Comic Relief zwei Minibücher: * Phantastische Tierwesen und wo sie zu finden sind (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them) * Quidditch im Wandel der Zeiten (Quidditch Through the Ages) Die Cover der deutschsprachigen Ausgaben der Harry-Potter-Reihe wurden von Sabine Wilharm gestaltet. Aufgrund der Beliebtheit der Reihe über den klassischen Kinder- und Jugendbuchmarkt hinaus wurden vor einiger Zeit in Großbritannien wie in Deutschland spezielle Ausgaben für Erwachsene aufgelegt. Diese sind textgleich mit der Kinderbuchausgabe, haben jedoch eine andere Umschlaggestaltung. Einflüsse auf das Werk Einfluss anderer Bücher Rowling hat sich nach eigenen Angaben beim Schreiben ihrer Bücher von keinem anderen Werk beeinflussen lassen als von Das kleine weiße Pferd von Elizabeth Goudge. Nach ihrer Meinung fließt jedoch „alles, was man je gelesen hat“ in einen Roman ein. Häufig wird J. K. Rowling auch mit Roald Dahl verglichen, der jedoch laut J. K. Rowling nicht zu ihren Lieblingsautoren zählt. Parallelen lassen sich zu dem 1990 erschienenen vierteiligen Comic The Books of Magic von Neil Gaiman erkennen. Die Reihe behandelt einen Teenager, der erfährt, dass er der größte Magier aller Zeiten werden könne. Wie Harry Potter hat er eine Eule als Haustier. Weitere Parallelen lassen sich auch zwischen „Das Geheimnis von Bahnsteig 13“ von Eva Ibbotson und Harry Potter erkennen. Der Bahnsteig 13 befindet sich ebenfalls am Bahnhof King's Cross und gibt Zugang zu einer anderen Welt. Plagiatsvorwurf Die amerikanische Kinderbuchautorin Nancy Stouffer vertritt die Ansicht, dass J.K. Rowling für ihre Werke Namen, Begriffe und grundlegende Handlungsstränge aus Stouffers Büchern The Legend of Rah and the Muggles und Larry Potter and His Best Friend Lily entnommen habe. Nach einem dementsprechenden Schreiben reichten Scholastic Inc. und Warner Bros. Klage gegen Nancy Stouffer ein, um feststellen zu lassen, dass keine Urheberrechtsverletzungen vorliegen. Die Beklagte erhob daraufhin Gegenklage, um ebendiese Verletzung feststellen zu lassen. Den Prozess im September 2002 gewann der Antragsteller der Hauptklage. Der Richter erkannte „klare Beweise“ für einen Betrug von Stouffer. Grund dafür war die Feststellung, dass die von Stouffer vorgelegten Beweisstücke teilweise gefälscht oder manipuliert waren. Tatsächlich konnte Stouffer nicht beweisen, dass auch nur ein Exemplar ihrer Bücher vor 2001 verkauft wurde. Stouffer wurde zu einer Entschädigung an die klagende Partei in Höhe von 50.000 US-Dollar verurteilt, ihre Gegenklage wurde abgewiesen. Sie kündigte daraufhin (bisher ohne Realisierung) an, aufgrund des aus ihrer Sicht unfairen Prozesses einen neuen anstreben zu wollen. Parallelen zwischen Leben und Werk Vielfach ist versucht worden, Parallelen zwischen J. K. Rowlings Leben und ihren Büchern herzustellen. Nicht alle davon sind zutreffend. So gab es in Rowlings Nachbarschaft in Winterbourne, wo sie in den 1970er-Jahren wohnte, einen Jungen namens Ian Potter, der später behauptete, er habe als Kind zu Joanne Rowlings engsten Freunden gehört und ihre Fantasie beflügelt, indem sie sich immer als Hexen und Zauberer verkleidet hätten. Dadurch sei Ian Potter das wirkliche Vorbild für Harry Potter. Rowling schreibt dazu auf ihrer Website, dass dies nicht stimme und sie nur noch wenige Erinnerungen an diesen Jungen habe. Die nachfolgend aufgezählten Parallelen stammen hauptsächlich aus Rowlings eigenen Aussagen. * Das Kapitel Der Spiegel Nerhegeb (ein Ananym des Wortes „Begehren“, englisch The Mirror of Erised) aus Band 1 schrieb Rowling während ihrer ersten Zeit in Portugal (1991). Harry sieht in diesem Spiegel seinen tiefsten Herzenswunsch – er sieht sich zusammen mit seinen Eltern, die er nie kennen gelernt hat. Rowling verarbeitet darin den frühen Tod ihrer Mutter wenige Monate zuvor. Auf die Frage, was sie selbst in diesem Spiegel sehen würde, antwortete sie daher auch einmal, sie würde sich selbst sehen, wie sie noch einmal fünf Minuten mit ihrer Mutter sprechen dürfte. * Die Dementoren aus Band 3 erfand Rowling während ihrer ersten Zeit in Edinburgh. Häufig werden diese Wesen, die den Menschen alle guten Erinnerungen aussaugen und sie zwingen, die schlimmsten Momente ihres Lebens noch einmal zu durchleben, als ein Symbol für Depressionen interpretiert. Tatsächlich sagte Rowling einmal, dass sie während dieser Zeit, als sie gezwungen war, von Sozialhilfe zu leben, unter Depressionen gelitten hat. Sie nannte das ihre „Grimm-Periode“. * Eine wichtige Rolle in den Büchern spielt der Londoner Bahnhof King's Cross – hier fährt der Zug ab, der Harry und seine Freunde zur Schule bringt. Rowlings Eltern hatten sich in einem Zug kennen gelernt, der von King's Cross abgefahren war, und auch die Zugfahrt, bei der Rowling die Idee zu Harry Potter hatte, endete dort. Allerdings liegen die Gleise 9 und 10 in der Realität in einem Nebengebäude und es gibt keine Wand dazwischen, auch wenn später ein Schild mit der Beschriftung 9 3/4 dort angebracht wurde. 2001 gab Rowling in einem Interview zu, dass sie King's Cross mit dem Bahnhof Euston verwechselt hatte. * In Band 3 gibt es folgende Textstelle (S. 110): „Ach übrigens, dieses Ereignis, vor dem du dich fürchtest - es wird am Freitag, dem sechzehnten Oktober geschehen“. Am Freitag, dem 16. Oktober 1992, heirateten Joanne Rowling und Jorge Arantes, eine Ehe, die wenig länger als ein Jahr hielt. * Joanne K. Rowling hat am selben Tag wie ihre Schöpfung Harry Potter Geburtstag (31. Juli). * Unter den zahlreichen Orts- und Personennamen, die in den Harry-Potter-Büchern auftauchen, finden sich auch solche von Personen und Orten, die J. K. Rowling kennt – so zum Beispiel die Mitglieder der irischen Quidditch-Nationalmannschaft aus Band 4. In Band 5 wird außerdem das Quidditchteam der Tutshill Tornados erwähnt – in Tutshill verbrachte Rowling einen Großteil ihrer Jugend. * Wie J. K. Rowling auf ihrer Webseite schreibt, sei Gilderoy Lockhart, der selbstverliebte Professor aus Band 2, die einzige Figur, die sie je komplett einer Person, die sie im wahren Leben kennt, nachempfunden hat. Gleichzeitig machte sie klar, dass sie natürlich nicht verraten wird, um welche Person genau es sich handle. Fest stehe aber, dass jene Person im wahren Leben auch tatsächlich genauso unsäglich arrogant und überzeugt von sich selbst sei. Dies sei auch der Grund, weshalb sie sich dazu entschloss, ihn in ihre Bücher einzubauen und ihn auf diese Weise lächerlich zu machen. Hörbücher Die Harry-Potter-Bände wurden in einigen Sprachen als Hörbuch veröffentlicht. Die ungekürzten englischen Hörbücher wurden von dem britischen Schauspieler Stephen Fry gesprochen. Die speziell für den US-amerikanischen Markt produzierte Fassung wird von Jim Dale gesprochen. Die deutsche Ausgabe wird von Rufus Beck gesprochen. Bis jetzt (2006) sind Hörbücher über die Bände 1 bis 6 im Hörverlag erschienen. Die Bände eins bis vier wurden jeweils mit der Platin-Schallplatte für 300.000 verkaufte Exemplare ausgezeichnet. Diese Auszeichnung erreichte bislang noch kein anderes deutsches Hörbuch. Weitere Preise, die das Hörbuch erhielt: * 2000: Hörbuch des Jahres (hr2-Bestenliste) * 2001: Gewinner des Hörkules Verfilmungen Warner Brothers sicherte sich schon früh die Filmrechte an der Buchreihe und produziert seit 2001 fast jedes Jahr einen neuen Film. Bisher sind die ersten vier Bände verfilmt worden: 1. Harry Potter und der Stein der Weisen (2001) 2. Harry Potter und die Kammer des Schreckens (2002) 3. Harry Potter und der Gefangene von Askaban (2004) 4. Harry Potter und der Feuerkelch (2005) 5. Harry Potter und der Orden des Phönix (das Erscheinen ist für den 12. Juli 2007 angekündigt) 6. Harry Potter und der Halbblutprinz (mit dem Erscheinen wird im November 2008 gerechnet) In der Liste der erfolgreichsten Filme rangieren alle vier bisher verfilmten Teile unter den ersten 16 Plätzen. Die ersten drei Filme spielten dabei über 2 Mrd € ein und der vierte Teil ist mit einem bisherigen Einspielergebnis von über 750 Mio. € bereits auf dem 8. Platz der besten Filme. Es ist vorgesehen, alle Bände mit denselben Darstellern zu verfilmen, allerdings musste der 2002 verstorbene Darsteller von Albus Dumbledore, Richard Harris, ab dem dritten Film durch Michael Gambon ersetzt werden. Harry Potter und der Orden des Phönix unter der Regie von David Yates soll am 12. Juli 2007 in die deutschen Kinos kommen. Zu Harry Potter und der Halbblutprinz, der 2008 folgen soll, ist nur die Teilnahme der drei Hauptdarsteller Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe und Emma Watson bestätigt worden[1]. Spiele Videospiele An die Harry-Potter-Geschichten angelehnte Videospiele von Electronic Arts gibt es für zahlreiche Plattformen, darunter Windows, Mac OS X (portiert von Aspyr Media) und alle gängigen Spielkonsolen. Das erste Spiel mit dem Titel Harry Potter und der Stein der Weisen erschien 2001 für PC, Mac und PSX. Es handelte sich hierbei um ein handelsübliches Adventure mit schlechter Synchronisation, leichten Kämpfen sowie einigen unspektakulären Besenflugeinlagen. Das zweite Spiel behandelt die Geschichte des zweiten Buchs Harry Potter und die Kammer des Schreckens und baut auf dem System des ersten Teils auf, ist jedoch wesentlich schwieriger und besitzt bessere Soundeffekte. Erstmals ist das Spiel für die PlayStation 2 und den Gamecube erhältlich. 2003 erschienen die Spiele Quidditch Worldcup sowie ein Remake des ersten Teils für die Xbox und andere Next-Generation-Konsolen (z. B. Playstation 2). Der dritte Teil erschien 2004 und brachte einige Neuerungen auf. Der 4. Teil erschien am 10. November 2005 für PC und alle aktuellen Spielkonsolen und ist der erste Teil, den man mit Freunden zusammen spielen kann. LEGO Harry Potter als LEGO-Figur vergrößern Harry Potter als LEGO-Figur Pünktlich zum Kinostart des ersten Harry-Potter-Films Harry Potter und der Stein der Weisen (2001) brachte die dänische Spielzeugfirma LEGO eine Harry-Potter-Produktserie auf den Markt. Diese umfasst hauptsächlich viele mit LEGO-Steinen modellierte, den Filmen nachempfundene Handlungsschauplätze, beispielsweise Hagrids Hütte, den Hogwarts-Express, das Schiff der Durmstrangs, einzelne Räume aus Hogwarts und sogar das ganze Schloss im Kleinformat, inklusive der Hauptcharaktere als kleine Figuren. Daneben wurden in den Jahren 2001 und 2002 auch spezielle Harry-Potter-Versionen des PC-Programms LEGO Creator herausgebracht, mit dem man virtuelle LEGO-Welten im Computer bauen kann. Verwandte Werke Weitere Fantasyreihen Der überraschende Erfolg von Harry Potter führte zu Beginn der 2000er-Jahre zu einem Boom von Fantasy-Romanreihen für Kinder und Jugendliche, die häufig mit Harry Potter verglichen und daran gemessen werden. Zu nennen sind dabei etwa Artemis Fowl von Eoin Colfer oder Molly Moon von Georgia Byng, im deutschen Sprachraum zum Beispiel Peter Freund (Laura und das Geheimnis von Aventerra und Fortsetzungen) oder Kai Meyer (Merle und die fließende Königin). Inhaltlich haben allerdings die meisten dieser Bücher nicht mehr mit Harry Potter gemein, als dass sie die Entwicklung von Jugendlichen in einer fantastischen Welt zeigen. Derartige Bücher gab es auch schon vor den Harry-Potter-Büchern, wie die Trilogie His Dark Materials von Philip Pullman, die zur selben Zeit ebenfalls relativ erfolgreich war und deren erster Band Der goldene Kompass 1996 erschien, also ein Jahr vor Harry Potter. Gleiches gilt für die Bücher von Cornelia Funke. Parodien Eine Parodie auf die Harry-Potter-Romane wurde von Michael Gerber unter dem Titel Barry Trotter und die schamlose Parodie (Barry Trotter and the Unauthorized Parody) geschrieben. Sie erschien im Herbst 2003 auch in Deutschland. 2004 erschien der zweite Band Barry Trotter und die überflüssige Fortsetzung (original: Barry Trotter and the Unnecessary Sequel). 2006 ist auch der dritte Band Barry Trotter und der unmögliche Anfang (original: Barry Trotter and the Dead Horse), ein Prequel zu den vorherigen Parodien, erschienen. Im Juni 2005 ist mit Terry Rotter und der Stein des Anstoßes[2] der erste Teil einer kostenlosen Parodiereihe von Andreas Müller als E-Book erschienen. Mittlerweile wurde der zweite Roman der Reihe Terry Rotter und die fragwürdige Kammer der schieren Schrecklichkeit veröffentlicht. Ein dritter Teil mit dem Titel Terry Rotter und der politische Gefangene ist in Arbeit. Seit 2004 wird im Blog „BatzLOG“ von Oliver Lysiak die schwule Variante von Harry Potter erzählt. Garry Poppers [3] schildert als Mischung aus Parodie und ernsthafter Geschichte die Erlebnisse des Jungen Garry im homosexuellen Internat St. Constantine alias „Cockwarts“. Eine filmische Harry-Potter-Parodie ist das TV-Special Berndi Broter und der Kasten der Katastrophen mit Bernd dem Brot, das der KI.KA Ende 2003 zunächst als Fünfteiler in der Kindersendung Chili TV und im Mai 2004 noch einmal komplett am Stück zeigte. Außerdem parodiert eine Folge der Animationsserie Die Simpsons Harry Potter. Eine weitere filmische Parodie, die im Internet kursiert, ist der 15-minütige Film: Parry Hotter und der Wodka muss fließen, von Parry Hotter [4]. Dabei wird allgemein der erste Teil der Harry-Potter-Saga parodiert. Von Arnd Böhm erschien die Comicparodie Harald und das Zauberportal. Im Internet fand auch die Parodie Harry Poga große Verbreitung – eine Neusynchronisation der bestehenden Filme ähnlich wie in Lord of the Weed. Außerdem findet man im Internet kurze, animierte Flash-Filme mit dem Namen Harry Pothead (umgangssprachlich für einen Cannabiskonsumenten), die Harry als Kiffer darstellen. Ebenfalls gibt es zu diesem Thema T-Shirts mit dem Aufdruck „Harry is a pothead and the Sorcerer’s stoned“, was ein Wortspiel auf der Grundlage des englischen Originaltitels des ersten Potter-Buchs ist. Im November 2002 ist unter dem Pseudonym Joanne R. Rohling die deutschsprachige Parodie Larry Otter und der Knüppel aus dem Sack bei Books on Demand erschienen. Es fand keinen nenneswerten Absatz und wurde von der Fangemeinde kaum beachtet. Plagiate In chinesischer Sprache erschien das unautorisierte Buch Harry Potter and Leopard-Walk-Up-to-Dragon, in Indien das Werk Harry Potter in Calcutta. J. K. Rowling erreichte gegen beide Werke gerichtliche Verbote. Tanya Grotter ist ein zauberndes Mädchen, das in Russland aktiv ist. Auch gegen dieses Werk leiteten J. K. Rowling und Warner Brothers rechtliche Schritte ein. Ansonsten existieren noch viele nichtkommerzielle Geschichten von Fans in der Harry-Potter-Welt, sogenannte Fanfics. Fanseiten In die Schlagzeilen geriet Warner Brothers Ende 2000 durch Briefe an Fanseite-Betreiber, denen man eine Verletzung von Markenrechten vorwarf. Für Verbraucher seien Domainnamen wie harrypotterguide.co.uk verwirrend, weswegen man die Inhaber aufforderte, ihre Domains an Warner Brothers zu übertragen. In het vierde jaar won Harry het Toverschool Toernooi. De wedstrijd eindigde met de dood van Carlo Kannewasser en de terugkeer van Voldemort. In het volgende jaar werd Harry de oprichter van de Strijders van Perkamentus en vocht hij voor het Ministerie van Toverkunst tegen Dooddoeners, wat leidde tot de dood van Sirius. In de Tweede Tovenaarsoorlog speelde Harry een grote rol. Samen met Albus Perkamentus, Ron en Hermelien zocht hij naar de Gruzielementen en probeerde die te vernietigen. At some point he married Ginny Weasley, with whom he had three children: James Sirius (named after his father and godfather), Albus Severus (named after Albus Dumbledore and Severus Snape), and Lily Luna (named after his mother and Luna Lovegood). He was also named the godfather of Edward Remus Lupin. In 2007 Harry was promoted to Head of the Auror Office at the age of 26, and would occasionally deliver Defence Against the Dark Arts lectures at Hogwarts. He later went on to be Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement.

In his seven years of schooling harry potter learns to become a skilled Wizard and encounters many adventures along with his friends, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. He is world famous through out the wizarding community because of surviving the unforgivable curse, Aveda Kedavra when Lord Voldemort attaked him as a baby. Harry's parents (Lily and James Potter) both died, trying to save Harry and each other, in that incident and because of that he now lives with his muggle aunt, uncle and cousin, the Dursleys. The curse gave Harry a scar in the shape of a lightning bolt in which he is also famous for. Harry's best friends, and mostly only link to the wizarding world are: Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. In Harry's fourth year, he has a girl friend named Cho Chang, but he breaks up with her in his fifth year, when Cho thinks Harry likes Hermione more, although they are just friends. But in Harry's sixth year, he falls in love with Ginny Weasley, Ron's younger sister. Other student friends of Harry's include: Seamus Finnegan, Dean Thomas and Neville Longbottom. Harry also befriends Sirius Black (A man, Harry's godfather in specific, who was accused of murdering that he did not do), Rubeus Hagrid (the gamekeeper and care of magical creatures teacher at Hogwarts, and the first person to tell Harry he was a wizard), and Professor Lupin ( a werwolf, but still a trusted DADA teacher, who was friends with Sirius Black and Harry's own father).

Evans”. Se recargo en la verja del jardín, y se puso a observarla. Pronto volvieron a mojar sus mejillas varias lágrimas. Estuvo hay por varios minutos y decidió entrar. Abrió la puerta del jardín, que estaba tan gastada que casi se cayó, camino por la vereda que daba a la puerta principal. Se detuvo a unos pasos de la puerta y giro la perilla lentamente, lo primero que vio fue una estancia aun amueblada muy bonita, pero llena de polvo, cruzo la habitación, y se introdujo en otra, que parecía ser la cocina, era una habitación pequeña, pero muy bien organizada, después salió de ahí y se dirigió hacia la habitación mas lejana de la entrada, la puerta era muy bonita a pesar de ser muy vieja, Snape entro de golpe, y la primera visión era una cama que estaba al fondo, la cual era iluminada misteriosamente por los rayos que entraban por la ventana, la habitación estaba muy bien acomodada, había un gran espejo, un armario y varios cajoneros, también había una mesa, sobre la cual había una fotografía de una muchacha de cabello castaño que saludaba alegremente. Snape tomo la fotografía y estuvo unos minutos contemplándola, hasta que la dejo y siguió inspeccionando. Abrió varios cajones en donde había libros y pergaminos viejos, siguió buscando hasta que encontró un pequeño paquete, que estaba guardado en un cajón, el paquete contenía una carta y una pequeña cajita, primero abrió la carta que en realidad era una pequeña nota. Lily: Te doy este pequeño regalo en muestra de lo mucho que te quiero, es algo que significa mucho para mi y espero lo conserves, porque en el pongo todo mi amor, y algo que siempre a sido tuyo, mi corazón. Quiero que sepas que aunque nos vamos a separar nunca te olvidare y te recordare cada vez que una estrella brille en el cielo. Te quiere… James Potter. Snape tiro la pequeña nota, y abrió la cajita con brusquedad, de ella saco una pequeña snitch, la miro por un rato luego se la guardo en la capa, tomo la nota y la rompió en pequeños pedazos, luego volteo hacia abajo y vio una foto, que no había visto por sacar con brusquedad el paquete, la tomo y vio a dos muchachos, que sonreían alegremente al mismo tiempo que se abrazaban, Snape tiro la foto y salió de la habitación dejando todo desordenado. Salió de la casa y dio un portazo, se alejo del terreno, y con un movimiento de varita, incendio, la choza. La vio consumirse por unos minutos, y se fue.

- At the beginning of Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone, Harry is about a year old, and has miraculously survived Voldemort's attack on him with only a lightning scar on his forehead, though his parents were killed. He is brought to live with his aunt and uncle, the Dursleys, at Number four, Privet Drive. He is instantly famous in the wizarding world as "The Boy Who Lived". In HPPS 2, Harry is ten years old, and living in the cupboard under the stairs at the Dursleys' house. On Dudley's birthday they go to the zoo, and Harry has an odd conversation with a snake, before the glass on its cage disappears and it escapes. Harry is blamed for the glass, and shut up in his cupboard as punishment. Harry seems to be destined to go to Stonewall High for secondary school, but mysterious letters begin arriving for him. Uncle Vernon refuses to let him read them, but they get the Dursleys agitated. They let him move into Dudley's second bedroom, but they refuse to respond to the letters. Finally Uncle Vernon evacuates them all from the house, trying to find someplace the letters can't reach, until he takes them to a shack on an isolated island in the ocean. As Harry is counting down to his eleventh birthday, he hears a booming knock on the door. A huge man comes into the hut, introduces himself as Hagrid. He tells Harry that he's a wizard, like his parents, and brings him a copy of the letter, inviting him to attend Hogwarts, a school for witches and wizards. He also tells Harry about how his parents died at the hands of Voldemort, but Harry himself survived with his scar. After a brief altercation, Uncle Vernon and the other Dursleys retreat, and Harry and Hagrid bed down. Harry wakes up the next morning, half-convinced that it's all a dream, but Hagrid is still there. Hagrid tells Harry that his parents left him a lot of money, which is in a bank called Gringotts, where Hagrid also has a secret errand for Dumbledore. Hagrid takes him to shore, then to London on the train. They go to a pub called the Leaky Cauldron, where Harry is recognized and made much of; he also meets Professor Quirrell, a teacher from Hogwarts. Behind it is a wall, which Hagrid opens into a magical archway to Diagon Alley. Diagon Alley is a revelation, with magical shops and wizards and witches all around. They go first to Gringotts, which is run by goblins. After a harrowing subterranean cart ride, Harry sees the vault where his parents' money is stored, and takes some of the quite respectable pile to buy his school supplies. They then go to Vault 713, where Hagrid removes a very small package. Harry goes to Madam Malkin's to be fitted for some robes; while there, he talks to a blonde-haired boy(Draco Malfoy)whom he takes a swift dislike to, with his spoiledness and his prejudices against Muggle-borns. The boy wants to be in Slytherin, which Hagrid tells Harry is where most of the dark magicians come from. Hagrid buys Harry an owl for his birthday present, and then they go to Ollivanders to buy his wand. Mr. Ollivander recognizes Harry, and remembers the wands his parents used, as well as the one Voldemort used to give him his scar. After trying many wands, Harry ends up with one that contains a phoenix feather--from the same phoenix as Voldemort's wand. After that, Hagrid send him on the train back to the Dursleys, with a ticket for the train to Hogwarts. Harry spends the next month at the Dursleys being studiously ignored and reading his schoolbooks. He does get Uncle Vernon to give him a ride to London to catch his train, but is left bewildered at King's Cross station trying to find Platform Nine And Three Quarters. Fortunately, he encounters the Weasley family, who show him how to get through to the platform and board the Hogwarts Express. Harry ends up sitting with Ron Weasley, and buys a large batch of candy which they share. He meets the hapless Neville Longbottom and the know-it-all Hermione Granger. He also meets Draco Malfoy again, which develops into open antagonism, and a fight is narrowly avoided. The train arrives outside Hogwarts, and the students disembark. Hagrid takes the first-years to the edge of a lake, where they board magical boats and dock at an underground harbour deep below the school. They are then led up the stairs to the front door of the castle. After worrying needlessly over the Sorting procedure, Harry finds he just has to put on the Sorting Hat. It tells him he would do well in Slytherin, but when he adamantly opposed to it, it puts him in Gryffindor instead, with Hermione, Ron and the other Weasleys. While watching Professor Quirrell talk to Professor Snape at supper, he feels a sharp burning sensation in his scar. In bed that night in the Gryffindor tower, he has an odd dream about wearing Quirrell's turban, which is encouraging him to switch into Slytherin. In HPPS 9, Harry does well in his first flying lesson, and after rescuing Neville's Remembrall from Draco Malfoy's toss, he is recruited for the Gryffindor Quidditch team, the youngest player in a century. Draco challenges him to a wizard's duel, so Harry and Ron(his second)go to the trophy room at midnight, accompanied by an unwilling Hermione and Neville. Draco doesn't show up, but apparently tipped off Filch. Running from the caretaker, they go through a locked door, and find themselves in the forbidden third-floor corridor, where they flee from a ferocious three-headed dog. In HPPS 10, Harry receives a Nimbus Two Thousand broomstick from Professor McGonagall and begins Quidditch practice. He and Ron quarrel with Hermione, but they end up saving her from a troll on Hallowe'en, after which they become friends. At the beginning of Harry Potter And The Chamber of Secrets, Harry is back at Number four, Privet Drive. All of his school supplies have been locked up by the Dursleys, and he is forbidden to even mention magic. - Harry Potter ist ein weiteres Lizenzgeschäft der LEGO-Company. Es wurden Sets von Teil ein bis Teil vier parallel zu den erschienenen Filmen hergestellt. Bei Teil Fünf brach die Produktion vorerst ab und es erschienen in Deutschland keine weiteren LEGO-Sets. 2010 kamen neue Baukästen von Harry Potter auf den Markt, die sich auch den anderen Teilen zuwandten, aber auch die vorhergehenden erweiterten oder sogar alte Sets neu auflegten. Im Jahr 2001 kam also der erste Harry Potter Baukasten von LEGO auf den Markt. 2006 gab es eine Pause, in 2007 gab es nur einen Baukasten. Die nächsten Baukästen kamen dann im Jahr 2010 wieder auf den Markt.
