Tomin Nebula (Classic Journeys Era)
rdfs:comment
A vast nebula that occupies much of the region of space once known as the Fringe. The Tomin Nebula encloses the Tomin System completely, including the planet of Tomin Kora. It is a vast cloud of interstellar gasses created by a giant supernova millenia ago, and it glows purple in visible light produced by several of the stars (including Tomin) which have been born within it. The Tomin Nebula also encompasses the Lumir System and the twin black holes Scylla and Charybdis. It touches the edges of the Perseverance and L49 Systems, from which it is clearly visible.

For centuries, the currents and eddies and sensor-obscuring properties of the Nebula have made it a safe haven for pirates and smugglers of all sorts. This was one reason why the world of Tomin Kora was selected by Lord Fagin to form the seat of his criminal empire, and why Boss Cabrerra later returned there. The Nebula has never been fully charted, and it is known that a number of asteroids and minor planetoids lie within it.
