The series follows the LAPD as they work to investigate and solve a crime then shifts to the Los Angeles district attorneys as they prosecute the accused. The series has already aired 15 seasons. On Janurary 4, 2025, the series has been renewed for a sixteenth season.

The series follows the LAPD as they work to investigate and solve a crime then shifts to the Los Angeles district attorneys as they prosecute the accused. The series first aired on September 29, 2010, after the cancellation of the original Law & Order. After 3 years on NBC, Dick Wolf announced via Twitter that the series will move to CBS on October 2, 2013. During the first season, episodes were named after neighborhoods in Los Angeles. Starting with the second season, episodes have their own original title. The series has already aired 15 seasons. On Janurary 4, 2025, the series has been renewed for a sixteenth season.
