The Start Here Spellbook is a spell book acquired through the box given by the Mystery Man, in the spell book Sims can learn the ingredients for many spells. Spell Books is a magical object that possesses intense knowledge and wisdom of the magical arts, and arcane magics. There are many types of spell books found in the dimensions, and some with magic energy in it. This mystical object was an extremely powerful spell book, containing a wide variety of magical incantations, of which most were in Latin, and was once owned by Margaret Isobel Thoreaux. Every time the book was opened near a fireplace, the fire would suddenly ignite. When Lana was possessed, the fire grew enough to blast Jason off his feet. The book was destroyed by Clark using his heat vision, which released Lana, Chloe, and Lois from its magic. Lana still had the Mark of Transference though, and Isobel was able to possess her at a later date. B-O-O-K. Spell books are books with various magic diagrams and incantations, presumably spells, written in them. This is where the resident magic users go when they need to get serious but the spell was just too darn long to memorize. They may also be magic artifacts in themselves, imbued with arcane potency, and magic is cast by wielding the book rather than by reading what is written in it. Older Than Dirt, as the ancient Egyptians thought magic could be performed by reading and performing specific incantations, and used collections of written spells in various forms.

In Real Life, the Spell Book is called The Manual and allows the user to cast "Tech Support" without use of reagents (although like its fictional counterpart, beware the person who thinks they're a wizard just because they read the book and are eager to try out the powerful incantations therein.) In Sci Fi, the Spell Book may be called by a number of names, but reading Techno Babble aloud from its sacred pages can produce limitless feats of technical wizardry. Related to, but distinct from the Great Big Book of Everything which is an infinite source of information. The Tome of Eldritch Lore is also a spell book, but has added implications . Some examples probably need to be moved over Older Than Dirt, as the ancient Egyptians thought magic could be performed by reading and performing specific incantations, and used collections of written spells in various forms. Examples of Spell Book include: This mystical object was an extremely powerful spell book, containing a wide variety of magical incantations, of which most were in Latin, and was once owned by Margaret Isobel Thoreaux. Every time the book was opened near a fireplace, the fire would suddenly ignite. When Lana was possessed, the fire grew enough to blast Jason off his feet. When Isobel's blood entwined with the symbol in the book before she was burned at the stake, it called to her heir, which turned out to be Lana Lang. Once Lana touched the book, Isobel gained possession of her body. She used this book to awaken herself within Lana, since she carried the Mark of Transference which Lana received after touching Isobel's tomb in a Parisian church. Isobel used a potion containing the following ingredients: the wings of a bat, tails of a lizard, petals of a rose, fungus, cloves, hair of two virgins, oil of mushrooms, twigs of a fig tree, pomegranate juice, and seaweed to resurrect the spirits of her comrades Madelyn and Brianna within Chloe Sullivan and Lois Lane. The potion was used to spike some wine during a toast. However, Isobel asked for a particular wine (Vintage Merlot from Southern France), so the wine may have played some part in the spell. The book was destroyed by Clark using his heat vision, which released Lana, Chloe, and Lois from its magic. Lana still had the Mark of Transference though, and Isobel was able to possess her at a later date.
