Valkyrie class
rdfs:comment
The Valkyrie-class is a class of Battlestar in service in the Colonial Fleet. The Valkyrie-class was a type of small spaceship, a fighter design representing a new model of Federation strike craft introduced into Starfleet service shortly after the Dominion War in the 24th century. The Valkyrie-class was a Federation attack fighter from the 24th century. (Star Trek: Invasion) The Valkyrie-class was designed as a replacement for the Peregrine-class fighter designed in the 2360s. It was a superior fighter that made use of advances in technology from the 2370s. It was similarly armed but was faster and more manoeuvrable. 2375, after the conclusion of the Dominion War, saw the first operational Starfleet squadron of Valkyries. Theses fighters were assigned to the USS Typhon. (TNG game: Star Trek: Invasion)

(TNG game: Star Trek: Invasion) By 2381, however, these fighters were still being deployed in fairly limited numbers, and were often shuffled around the fleet, The USS Beliskner received a squadron of Valkyrie fighters for flight evaluations when it was upgraded to Space Control Ship specs, but they would soon be replaced by upgraded Peregrine-class fighters when the vessel was returned to fleet. (Star Trek: New Order) By 2415, the Antechrist-class was fitted with a sizeable number of Valkyrie-class fighters. (Star Trek: False Vacuum: "Structural Unemployment") Valkyrie-class fighters could be outfitted with two full-sized photon torpedoes or eight R-5162 photonic missiles, if outfitted with weapons other than micro-torpedoes. (Star Trek: False Vacuum: "Black Tornado") The Valkyrie-class was a type of small spaceship, a fighter design representing a new model of Federation strike craft introduced into Starfleet service shortly after the Dominion War in the 24th century. The Valkyrie-class is a class of Battlestar in service in the Colonial Fleet.
