Gaians Gone Wild
rdfs:comment
Gaians Gone Wild is a Gaia Online's official company softball team. On May 5, 2009, Gaia webcasted the very first Gaians Gone Wild game to fans. Using Ustream.tv, it was the first game of a new season that was shared live to all of Gaia. Users were excited and used Ustream's chat for cheering on the team. But, there was a downfall to the chat: not everyone could join in. The popularity of GGW led the contests to be run by Gaia itself, with prizes ranging from gold to the ultra rare. Prizes known to come from GGW contests: Drachen's Helm, Manul the Pallas Cat, and Rock Demon.

May 6, 2009: The first ever Gaians Gone Wild Fan thread was born. Three users (Mistaken Life, Mother Fluff, and scullylam) decided to run this fan thread in partnership with Gaia Online. All chat for the webcasts would take place within the thread. And more user/staff interaction came to be. The following year, a new fan thread was planned. This time, it had more polish and experience. Mistaken Life, Mother Fluff, scullylam, and Tekiva were a part of this thread. Contests were held during the webcasts. And a guild was created just for the fans. The popularity of GGW led the contests to be run by Gaia itself, with prizes ranging from gold to the ultra rare. Prizes known to come from GGW contests: Drachen's Helm, Manul the Pallas Cat, and Rock Demon. On July 5, 2011, the newest fan thread is in the works. Only one returning user is a part of the thread and a lot of new faces has joined in. Set up has started and it is said the newest season will begin July 19.
