The ship under the command of the East India Trading Company was used to ferry slaves. However, after Captain Jack Sparrow 'liberated' the ship and her inhumane cargo - Cutler Beckett had the Wench burned and sunk. The ship under the command of the East India Trading Company was used to ferry slaves. However, after Captain Jack Sparrow 'liberated' the ship and her inhumane cargo - Cutler Beckett had the Wench burned and sunk. Jack received his "P for pirate" brand from Ian Mercer and Cutler Beckett before burning the Wench with Jack in it. But as it sank Jack attempted to grab a few coins from the ship. However, Sparrow was not about to be outdone. He called upon Davy Jones to recover the ship - with the agreement that after thirteen years as her captain, Davy could have his soul. Of course, he only remained captain for two years, before Hector Barbossa's mutiny and subsequent marooning of Jack on Rumrunner's Isle.
