n31:abstract
Kelen Adwar is a Sith Assassin and mentalist, a part-time student of Ahkris, a trusted member of None Whatsoever, and a superior officer of the Central Command Operatives. Her base of operations is the Elom Academy. Kelen was a servant to Earl Matthe'i Salphoris of the Isen Star Empire. She hid her considerable Force potential, fearful of being taken from her family. Secretly, she began to study from hearsay, public record and her own observations of Salphoris and his fellow nobles. She had achieved a very simple level of competence by the time of the destruction of the Bandit Kingdoms; leaving employment with Salphoris' estate, she struck out on her own and was found on Ramzi by Colonel Siriss Cortann. Cortann took her as an unofficial student, a position she held for roughly a year. Kelen attempted to prevent Cortann's arrest and was imprisoned with her on Armitage. Along with Madlo Iktar, Kilenka, Bass and Cortann herself, Kelen escaped custody and kidnapped a young Ember Rekali. Kelen grew to like Ember. When he was rescued by the Patriots and the Tak Council, she escaped and disappeared, 'missing the boat' to join her Master and the others with Kishkumen. She waited to be contacted, but when Cortann proved to be too busy cementing her place in the Cult, Kelen left the Unknown Regions to see what trouble she could stir up - and, in part, to look for Ember. She was found instead by Ald Sorosel, who inducted her into None Whatsoever and the Dark Council. After the invasion of the Sith Empire, Adwar became one of the two leaders of the Central Command Operatives, along with Hin Jasto. She operates from the Elom Academy in the Sith'ari Centrality, and works part-time with Ahkris learning the finer points of the mind and its manipulation. Kelen's main tutors have been top-notch mentalists. As a result, Kelen is very good at mind tricks and reading surface thoughts. She knows Drain Knowledge, but can use it mainly on the weak-minded or the unconscious. She can implant compulsions, as with Portoris Bol. In late 18 ABY, Kelen was one of the Sith who joined an assault on the Systems Alliance. She and two Amphi-Hydrus were aboard the Star Destroyer Ajunta Pall during the Battle of Thesstria and the subsequent battle in a remote white dwarf system. The Elomin captain of the Pall, a woman named Selvik, refused to call for help or flee while being chased by eight Systems Alliance ships. When the Pall's reactor was crippled, its fellow Star Destroyer Kinrath opted to escape, leaving the Pall dead in space. Kelen executed Selvik for the negligent homicides of her crew, and awaited capture by the Systems Alliance forces.
