Otomo Gaishi was a selfish courtier of the Imperial Families. Gaishi selected the samurai-ko Daidoji Tsuka as his yojimbo, despite he had already many other yojimbo under his service. Tsuka had been proved as a skilled nikutai in the Daidoji Army and he expected to share in some of the young Crane's reflected glory. His attempts at flirting with Tsuka were met with open rejection, and the yojimbo was quickly sent to accomplish petty tasks. For unknown reasons Tsuka disappeared when Gaishi sent her to the Twilight Mountains because he had wanted snow from the mountain top to chill his sake.
