n19:abstract
Lirona is the southern most Province of Telamon. The majority of the province's population lives along the west coast where ample trade with the northern coast of Artania and the rest of Makon provides many jobs. Most of the rest of the population live in the mining towns of the Lironese Mountain Range near the border with Hutori. The province was briefly the home of the Revolutionary Ultranational Guard, a paramilitary group closely linked to Hutori's Ultranationalist Party who were entrenched within the mountains. It was here that they planned a high number of elaborate attacks against the Hutori and Telemonese Governments. It was here that they created training camps throughout the mountain's lower bases where they recieved shelter using a vast comprehensive system of caves. After the Telamonese Army's military intervention that the organization's ranks were completed decimated and it's power decentralized. Their leader Gordon Gunn was shot dead by Telemonese Armed Forces whilst fleeing on horse back. Three of their commanders were later captured and executed. It's generally thought and accepted by sociologists, psychologists and historians alike that the terrorist group exploited Lirona's masses and thought that their socialist beliefs would provide a perfect haven. Economically, Lirona is Telamon's poorest province, and this is reflected in its politics. Although socially a generally left-wing state, it has usually endorsed candidates of the far-right which oppose laissez-faire economics. It is a heavily socialistic state, and has been generally seen as the battleground between the Telamon National Party and the Rightful Radical Party.
