During McCarthy's party, Vanessa tried to break off their relationship, and when Gifford threatened to go to McCarthy, Vanessa shot Gifford dead with a Baretta, later found (and witnessed by) Izzy Moreno, and Vanessa went to jail, charged with Gifford's murder.
