Witch Hunt Witch hunt
rdfs:comment
Witch Hunt is the 16th episode of the 7th season of "E.R." Critics of sexism are sometimes accused of launching a witch hunt or demonizing a man, or similar. There seem to be a couple of inputs into this: * a (generally false) perception that a man described as having done something sexist is at serious risk of losing his career, family or community standing * a perception that accusations of sexism should be reserved for very serious incidents only * the tendency of both critics and defenders of sexism to see the other side as having spilled more words in an individual debate, thus leading to an exponential growth in responses and counter-responses. Defenders who perceive this as entirely due to the critics will tend to then accuse them of having responded disproportionately to the original incident, even when the response is due to bot Witch Hunt is linked to other Al Howin Event quests. The one before this one is Bublling Cauldron. Witch Hunt is a Doctor Who comic strip. It has been printed through various publications. Witch Hunt is an ability of the Dancer class, learned for 100 JP. It has a speed of 17 and targets all enemies, dealing damage to their MP. A search, often misguided, for hidden enemies of the community. There is a menace in this community. They may look like us, but they are not us. They lurk among us, waiting for their chance to do us harm. Anyone could be one of them: your neighbor, your friend, even a member of your family. But don't be fooled, they're only pretending to be your loved one. In reality, they are a witch/Jew/child molester/Communist/devil worshipper/ShapeShifter! We must root out this menace and destroy them, no matter what steps we have to take. After all, the community's safety is far more important than niceties like civil rights and due process, right? Witch Hunt is a side quest in the Fallout 4 add-on Far Harbor. A witch-hunt was traditionally a search for witches or evidence of witchcraft, which could lead to a witchcraft trial involving the accused person. Emma arrives in Storybrooke with Henry and reunites with her friends and family, only to discover that no one remembers how they were transported back - or the past year they had spent back in the Enchanted Forest. But Emma is sure that someone in town is responsible for this new curse and teams up with Regina in an attempt to uncover their identity. Meanwhile, in the fairytale land that was during the past year, Regina, with the aid of Robin Hood, attempts to break into her castle, which has been overtaken by Zelena. === Introduction ===__NOEDITSECTION__ It's not important right now. Events are already in motion. I attacked the Witch on my own, but I couldn't kill her. Now I'm injured, but so is she. Without my full strength, I won't be able to defeat her, even with that sword. But you... you can do it! She's recuperating at the top of the altar. Take the Sword of the Holy Soul and slay her now before she recovers! === Conclusion ===__NOEDITSECTION__ === Additional Information ===__NOEDITSECTION__ This quest has a special conclusion background: File:Witch Hunt conclusion background.png Psionics-110 Witch Hunt is a Gaunt's Ghosts short story by Dan Abnett. It was released in 1999. It follows the efforts of Inquisitor Lilith to prove that Milo is a witch following a betting scam conducted by the Tanith First aboard transit, while Gaunt feverently tries to defend his young adjutant. It was used as the Character Study chapter for Milo in Ghostmaker. The High Confessor's tasked me with investigating a member of the Children. I need to check his note to see who I'm looking into. I turned over Aubert's note to the High Confessor, likely sealing her fate. Her life is in Atom's hands now. I found a note written by Aubert in an old footlocker. This could be the clue I'm looking for. I should see what information it contains. I found a note written by Aubert in an old footlocker she and Edgar to share secret correspondences. This could be the clue I'm looking for. I should see what information it contains. OR I managed to convince the High Confessor that Sister Aubert's not a threat. With the letter destroyed, she should be as safe as one can be. OR I informed the High Confessor that there's no evidence against Sister Aubert. Here's hoping he believed me... I discovered a furious note written by Aubert. Now I need to decide what to do with it - turn it over to the High Confessor or talk to Aubert about it. I managed to convince the High Confessor that Sister Aubert's not a threat. That should keep her safe for the foreseeable future. I managed to convince the High Confessor that Sister Aubert's not a threat. That should keep her safe, wherever she ends up... OR I turned Aubert's note over to the High Confessor. Luckily, I'd already told her to flee first. She should be safe, wherever she is. OR I found a letter written by a Child of Atom named Edgar to Sister Aubert. Seems they used footlocker for secret correspondences. I should try and gain access to it. It would seem the High Confessor suspects Sister Aubert of treachery. Time to see if there's any truth behind his fears.

After all, the community's safety is far more important than niceties like civil rights and due process, right? A trope that came into its own in The Fifties as a metaphor for paranoia about Communists in the United States. A community believes that some of its members are secretly enemies in disguise, and attempts to find out which. Hysteria rises, often due to one or more people trying to take advantage of the fear for their personal grudges or advancement. Inevitably, innocent people are accused, often dying or having their lives ruined. Turns the community into All of the Other Reindeer, and often includes a Torches and Pitchforks scene, and when the target is "witches" can lead to the so-called witch getting burned at the stake. A frequent "twist" is that the person doing the most to urge on the Witch Hunt is actually one of the enemy group, knowingly (in which case he's conducting it to get rid of his rivals or to spread chaos among the populace) or otherwise (Tomato in the Mirror). Today, the Witch Hunt has become synonymous with any wild, unfounded hunt for a nebulous 'enemy', in which actual evidence, if such exists in the first place, is scarce. The careers of many prominent people have been broken during Witch Hunts. Compare Ten Little Murder Victims and Hero with Bad Publicity. Examples of Witch Hunt include:
