More About Thomas the Tank Engine is the thirtith book in the Railway Series. It was written by Christopher Awdry and illustrated by Clive Spong. Stories; Thomas, Percy and the Coal Thomas is bragging that blue is the only suitable colour for a Really Useful Engine, but soon gets his just desserts when Percy is delivering coal next day, and some coal falls out of a truck, causing Thomas to get covered in coal dust - from smokebox to bunker! Thomas is cross, and accuses Percy of doing it on purpose. The feud worsens and, several days later, Percy is about to get some water, but crashes through faulty buffers and into the coal bunker, getting covered in coal dust himself- just as Thomas leaves, delighted and amused. The Runaway Percy is mended after the coal crash, but soon after Thomas comes down with an illness. On his return, he has to manage with stiff brakes, as the Works had left the brakes stiff. Things go well, until Thomas' fireman is ill and a "relief" fireman forgets about the brake problem, so Thomas starts on his own. Harold has to take an inspector to stop Thomas. Thomas cannot describe the relief he felt when his brakes were applied! Better Late Than Never Repairs on the Viaduct are being carried out and the engines have to be extra careful when crossing. This makes the engines late and Thomas cross. One day, Bertie teases Thomas about how he might manage to win a race against Thomas- something he denies. James runs late so Thomas has to hurry. However, he sees Bertie broken down. Thomas feels sorry for Bertie, so takes his passengers and gets help. The next day, Bertie arrives to thank Thomas. Drip Tank Percy decides to put the whole argument about the coal behind him and be friends with Thomas again. This, unfortunatly, backfires when a branch hits Percy and Thomas is unsympathetic about it. The next evening, Percy asks Toby on the defination of a drip, having heard a boy call his friend one. Thomas, feeling annoyed, calls Percy a drip. Percy is most offended, so refuses to help when Thomas breaks a siderod and it punctures his water tank. Percy changes his mind and helps Thomas back to the shed. Thomas, ashamed of his behaviour, apologises to Percy and asks to be friends again. Percy says yes and the two have remained the best of friends ever since.
