When the player begins a game with Hocus Topaz activated, a special starting layout appears. The layout includes unique purple gems that resemble witch hats. Hats function identically to Flame Gems, except hats also clear every gem within the same and adjacent rows to the left of them. The base value for clearing a hat is 4,000 points. While Hocus Topaz is active, hats replace random purple gems throughout the game, and Flame Gems created using purple gems become hats instead.

After the Last Hurrah, a Coin bonus occurs in which nine hat icons appear in a 3×3 arrangement. When the player selects an icon, it reveals a numerical Coin value that is then added to the player's Coin total. The Coin payouts the bonus offers are 1,000, 5,000, 10,000, 15,000, 25,000, 35,000, 50,000, 75,000, and 250,000.
