Gurubashi Catacombs
rdfs:comment
The Gurubashi Catacombs was a deathmatch-style battleground originally planned for World of Warcraft as a new battleground. It was eventually canceled due to game play issues. The Gurubashi Catacombs was designed as a 5v5 match, similar to the arena battleground style. It was supposedly going to be located in the catacombs beneath Gurubashi Arena, where dangerous animals were once kept. Gurubashi Catacombs led to modern arenas and greatly influenced how they are laid out.

n17:abstract
The Gurubashi Catacombs was a deathmatch-style battleground originally planned for World of Warcraft as a new battleground. It was eventually canceled due to game play issues. The Gurubashi Catacombs was designed as a 5v5 match, similar to the arena battleground style. It was supposedly going to be located in the catacombs beneath Gurubashi Arena, where dangerous animals were once kept. Gurubashi Catacombs led to modern arenas and greatly influenced how they are laid out. This was modeled after FPS deathmatch maps; 5v5, single elimination. It was originally very, very large and mutli-leveled; but players spent too much time searching for their opponents. It was, for this reason, never implemented.
