Orpheus Tower
rdfs:comment
Orpheus Tower was a 14 storey tower block on Desmond Street on the Woodpecker Estate on the border of New Cross and Deptford in Lewisham, London. Constructed in the early 1970s, the block contained 56 flats. The estate quickly began to experience serious social issues and in 1992, an Estate Action Plan was brought in to regenerate the estate. In 1995, proposals to demolished all but one of the tower blocks were approved and Orpheus Tower was demolished several years later to make way for low-rise housing.
