The text, along with the art, greatly expanded the background material available at the time on the Horus Heresy. The series outlines the entire Heresy, while providing additional background on it and the wider Warhammer 40,000 universe. The Collected Visions omnibus also contains an exclusive short story, The Kaban Project, which was later reprinted as a stand-alone e-book.
