The club applied for a provisional membership to the Austrian Ice Hockey Federation (OEHV) in November 1927. Their application was accepted at the federation's general meeting on April 15, 1928. Innsbrucker AC played friendly games in Austria but mostly abroad against other European teams between 1928 and 1932. The club remained affiliated to the OEHV until 1934.
