n25:abstract
The M812E4 Komodo AVP (E for Energy) (Also know as the 'Laser Tank' or crudely as the 'Penetrator') was a modified version of the Monitor, its main gun removed and replaced with a Weapon/Anti-Vehicle Model 8 Grindell/Galileian Nonlinear Rifle The vehicle its self is longer and wider than the scorpion chassing though marginly lower than it. The main chassis is a boxy chassis in a trapezoid shape, with a front sloped plate, sporting the fixed gun and mounting a 20mm remote operated turret on the rough, providing anti infantry defence and a remote operated .50 cal defence MG on the rear to aid in defence and escape. These combinations make a excellent tank hunting vehicle. Its low profile, Hydraulic suspension allowing it to raise the tracks to change its elevation, making it perfect for ambush attacks or launching first strikes on tanks in dense enviroment. With the abilities to effective hide behind hills, in ditches, in forests and in towns, its adaptability is fathomless. Its only problem is, while facing targets on their flanks, faster vehicles can out run its turning time or the time it takes to move the gun. The vehicle uses two primary engines, a diesel cruising engine for low-mid speed cruises and a gas turbine 'dash' engine for escape and advance. The weapon itself is a marvel of modern engineering. It is capable of instantly destroying a MBT at any position in line of light, with no effect on aiming by wind or gravity. It uses a enlargened fusion core directly linked to the engine to power the weapon. The Fusion core itself is rechargable, either by a large scale power supply or by using the engine to power it. The weapon is capable of piercing four meters of Ceramic-Titanium armour, usually found on Scorpion tanks.
