Cave Story 3D
rdfs:comment
Cave Story 3D is a Nintendo 3DS video game released by NIS America and developed by Nicalis. Atlus assisted in the manufacturing of the product. It is a remake of the popular freeware video game Cave Story completely redone with 3D graphics. This is the third iteration of the game released on a Nintendo platform, and the first one to be released through retail. Every aspect of the game has been revamped, turning the popular sprite-based characters, objects and locations into 3D polygons. The developers admit that with the original Cave Story, there wasn't much they could do with layers because of its 2D style. With 3D, however, they were able to add several layers and accordingly include more background objects, thus increasing the 3D depth. There exists at least one major glitch in the game. In any given area, if you open your inventory then pause the game while still in the inventory and choose another save file, the objects you can interact with in the new area will revert to the ones of the area you were previously in. It is possible to obtain unlimited health, find the Beast Fang, and even teleport back to the side room in the original Egg Corridor, with the Corridor still fully accessible using this.

n22:abstract
There exists at least one major glitch in the game. In any given area, if you open your inventory then pause the game while still in the inventory and choose another save file, the objects you can interact with in the new area will revert to the ones of the area you were previously in. It is possible to obtain unlimited health, find the Beast Fang, and even teleport back to the side room in the original Egg Corridor, with the Corridor still fully accessible using this. The reason this happens is that the game stores the current room's script when loading the item menu script. When the room is exited, it doesn't close the menu and loads the item menu with the current room's script. When the menu is closed, it reopens the script that it had stored. Essentially the game thinks you're in the room you were before. There are a few interesting side effects for when certain events are triggered that aren't in the script, some of which can't be predicted... Most can though, it usually loads things from the item menu. A map is placed on the bottom screen to assist in the navigation of the game's world. Daisuke "Pixel" Amaya, the game's creator, claims that this and several other enhancements were made because of player feedback from the WiiWare and DSiWare versions of the game, saying that he felt that it's "important to have an understanding of what players want, and assess whether or not something improves the overall experience."
