A fleet of L.E.G.I.O.N. gunships ambush the R.E.B.E.L.S. Dox still hasn't perfected the controls on his new ship and the rest of the crew grow worried. Dox's expert piloting skills however, enables him thread a path through the middle of the fleet and escape. Meanwhile, the ship carrying Lyrl Dox pinpoints a strange entity floating in space. They beam it aboard and learn that it is Kyle Rayner, the most recent Earth human to accept the duties of a Green Lantern. Kyle doesn't know that the L.E.G.I.O.N. has turned corrupt. Lyrl tells him that Dox's crew are fugitives from justice and are responsible for the deaths of many L.E.G.I.O.N. officers. Kyle offers to bring them in. Green Lantern tracks Dox's ship and follows them to an unidentified planet. Dox is still evading L.E.G.I.O.N. gunships, and tries to disappear within a populated area. Lyrl has his officers bomb the community, killing dozens of innocent civilians. Kyle witnesses the massacre and grows enraged. He turns against the L.E.G.I.O.N. and disables several pursuing ships. With L.E.G.I.O.N. out of the way, Kyle discusses matter with Dox. Dox tries to explain the true nature of their situation, but Strata, frustrated over the role she has been forced to play, furiously suggests that Dox may have willingly endangered the natives of this world. Kyle grows angry once again and punches Dox. Meanwhile, Lyrl hires a private citizen to help them bring the R.E.B.E.L.S. down - Strata's husband, Garv.
