Nathaniel Hawthorne (July 4, 1804 - May 19, 1864) was an American writer and transcendentalist born in Salem. Nathaniel Hawthorne (born Nathaniel Hathorne; July 4, 1804 – May 19, 1864) was an American novelist and short story writer. His most famous novel, The Scarlet Letter, was published in 1850. Much of Hawthorne's writing centers around New England (primarily Massachusetts, his home state) and many feature moral allegories with a Puritan inspiration. 1804-1864 Nathaniel Hawthorne, der zu den größten amerikanischen Prosadichtern des 19. Jahrhunderts zählt, entstammt einer alteingesessenen Puritanerfamilie. Nathaniel Hawthorne is seen chuckling over ruining ninth grade for everyone as he writes a story. Nathaniel Hawthorne was an author from Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul. Greg Heffley chose him because he was supposed to write a letter to an author who is not Mik Davies. he hadn't read any of his books (no offense) He also asked Nathaniel questions like, what his favourite color, favourite animal, favourite flavour of ice cream and favourite superhero movie. But, he didn't answer because he died more than a century ago, that note was written by Katrina Welker telling Greg about him.
