Inspector Stavic takes his men into the catacombs beneath Castle Branek. The evil Morgaine le Fey is present and in search of the tomb of Merlin. She sends her demonic agents to attack Stavic's men. The inspector and his men find aid from the most unlikely of resources - the demon, Etrigan. Etrigan appears and dives into Morgaine's agents. Back in Gotham City, Harry Matthews and Glenda Mark are still trying to find out what happened to Jason Blood. Although she hasn't known him long, Glenda already feels a bond forming between Jason and herself. Randu Singh arrives and uses his telepathic powers in an attempt to locate Jason. He focuses his powers through one of the portraits of Jason's ancestors. At Castle Branek, Morgaine weaves a spell that reverts the Demon back into the form of Jason Blood. After she disappears, Blood and Stavic inspect the tomb of Merlin and Jason deduces that the tomb itself is actually the Eternity Book - a tome of great mystic potential. The spirit of Merlin appears before them and warns Jason that Morgaine has stolen a powerful spell from the tomb - a spell that will make her youthful again, and even more powerful than before. Jason Blood and Inspector Stavic track Morgaine to the nearby Walpurgis Wood where her cultists are in the midst of a ritual using Merlin's spell. They interrupt the ritual, but Morgaine has her sorcerer Warly summon a beast called a Gorla to attack them. The Gorla tears through Inspector Stavic and Jason Blood transforms into Etrigan. The Gorla is no match for Etrigan's superior strength, and he bludgeons it to death with a large rock. He then sends volcanic flames through the earth that ignites the area surrounding Morgaine's cultists. Morgaine herself seems to go up in flames and disappears. As the smoke clears, Etrigan reverts back into the form of Jason Blood.
