King Scorpions are aggressive monsters found in the Dwarven Mine, the Lava Maze, in the Wilderness, and some areas on Crandor. They patrol the iron, mithril, adamantite, and copper rocks in the area north of the Mining Guild door, the coal and tin rocks west of the Falador house stairs, the Lovakengj house portion of Zeah, and the mithril and coal rocks on Crandor. It stops being aggressive at level 65. The King of all Scorpions, this scorpion is far more accurate than the inferior scorpion species. King scorpions will only attempt to use melee when they are aggressive towards the player. King scorpions will only attempt to use melee when they are aggressive towards the player. If they are attacked from a distance while pursuing a player, or if they are attacked first or provoked while not aggressive, they will only use ranged. The only pictorial evidence of his existence is the so-called Scorpion Macehead that was found in the Main deposit by archeologists James E. Quibell and Frederick W. Green in a temple at Nekhen (Hierakonpolis) during the dig season of 1897/1898. It is currently on display at the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford. The stratigraphy of this macehead was lost due to the methods of its excavators, but its style seems to date it to the very end of the Predynastic Period. Though badly damaged, the visible parts are extraordinary records from this early time in Egyptian history. He is believed to have lived just before or during the rule of Narmer at Thinis for this reason, and also because of the content of the macehead. King Scorpions are monsters located throughout RuneScape Classic, most commonly by ore deposits. King Scorpions are larger than both the Scorpion and Poison Scorpion. Like other races of Scorpions in Gielinor, they drop nothing when killed.

If they are attacked from a distance while pursuing a player, or if they are attacked first or provoked while not aggressive, they will only use ranged.
