Jonty Chataway
rdfs:comment
Jonty Chataway was a contestant in the Pub Olympics in 1972 and was on The Flying Horse's team in the dominoes contest against the Rovers Return's Ena Sharples. As well as her skill in the game, Ena used psychological tactics against Jonty, making him put out his pipe before they started. She then claimed the game when he put down a wrong domino. Eric Blunt, The Flying Horse's landlord took him to task for the error, calling him a "flat-capped old nit". A flustered Jonty pointed out that he'd spent the game with Ena staring intently across the table at him "like a flipping hypnotist!"
