Laeradr's Divine
rdfs:comment
Laeradr's Divine is the religious following that developed around the worship of the tree Laeradr, which is said to have been grown at the center of a Force Nexus. It was founded centuries ago on an unknown planet on the outer rim of the galaxy. Currently, the organization's influence is limited to the planet upon which Laeradr can be found. However, since crash landing near the grove of the God of Life, the dark Jedi Marrek has been steadily spreading Laeradr's influence throughout the galaxy.

It is believed by the Divine that by worshiping Laeradr they can achieve immortality through ascension. Indra's Chosen, who are selected by the tree itself, are offered up at the trunk of Laeradr as sacrificial lambs. The Indra believe that though the physical bodies of these chosen are destroyed their souls ascend into the heavens where they are granted Laeradr's blessing and exist for all eternity as beings of pure light. Though there is no physical evidence to support this theory of life after death the Indra still consider it a great honor to be chosen as a sacrifice. The Priesthood of Laeradr are the religious leaders of the Divine and are sometimes referred to as the Council of Twelve or High Priests of Indra. These twelve individuals are hand selected by Laeradr himself and are said to possess innate powers. After their coronation they are offered artifacts carved from Laeradr's bark which are said to further enhance their strength. As a result they become powerful Force users of incredible ability and it is hypothesized that even a trained Jedi would have difficulty facing off with just one of these Disciples. Though little is known of it a thirteenth Disciple of Laeradr does exist and though he is not an official member of the Council of Twelve he commands their respect and the respect of all the Divine. He is Laeradr's Avatar, a physical being said to possess the entirety of Laeradr's Will. He is the voice of Laeradr and communes with the God himself. His rule over the Divine is absolute and his faith in the Chronicles is unshakable. However, the previous Avatar had passed away and currently the Divine are waiting for the one prophesied to take his place.
