Rare Purple Pikmin, also known as Light Purple Pikmin, are a new Pikmin type from Pikmin: A New Journey. They are a rare variation of the normal purple pikmin. When you throw a Pikmin into a Violet Candypop Bud, there is a very small chance one of these will come out instead of a normal Purple. They seem shy and do not enjoy fighting; they only do so because they are commanded to. The one thing you'll immediately notice about them is they are a much lighter shade of purple than a normal Purple. They also have very good hearing because of their cat-like ears. However, the defining trait of a Rare Purple is not either of these things- it's the fact it has wings.
