Chomp Shark
rdfs:comment
Chomp Shark is a giant subspecies of a Chain Chomp that appears in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. This enemy is without chains and is much larger than normal Chomps, making them a bigger threat. These enemies only appear in the level, KEEP MOVING!!!! where multiple of them can be found in that area. These enemies reappear in Yoshi's Island DS in various fortress levels and castle levels. They act the same in this game. Chomp Sharks are giant Chain Chomps from Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island that are invincible and will kill Yoshi if he tries to backtrack. In the second to last stage, "KEEP MOVING!!!!", this stage earns its name because there are so many Chomp Sharks that it makes it impossible to backtrack. They also appear in Marching Milde's Fort as their first course.

Chomp Sharks prevent backtracking so Yoshi must only go forward or he loses a life. Yoshi also has to get to the end of the path where it chases him by going onto a hard platform the Chomp Shark cannot bite through, defeating it. Yoshi must go into the gate where the Chomp Shark cannot access, making the enemy collapse and become defeated. If Yoshi manages to hit the Chomp Shark with an egg, it appears in the "Giant Enemy" section of the museum.
