A Stracci owned hotel in New Jersey, the Highway Hotel was known for it's extortionate prices. It's manager was the outwardly jolly Bernie Ryngpease and it was fronted by Al Bellagio, who was known to deal from a crooked deck in his gambling operation on the second floor. It also was home to a prizefighter who charged $2,000 a fight. It was defended by ten armed guards. After briefly serving as the office of Don Stracci, It was taken over by the Corleone family, during the Five Families War in 1946. The Stracci offices were then moved to their safehouse at the St. Alban's Hotel in Midtown. Corleone enforcer Aldo Trapani later bought a room here for $50,000 to use as a base in his war against the Straccis.
