Judge Lex is a corrupt Judge from Mega-City One. He was portrayed in the 2012 film Dredd by South African actor Langley Kirkwood. He has worked for over twenty years as a street judge from the Mega-City One Justice Department and over this time he became disillusioned with the city and justice system leading him to become a corrupt judge who works as a mercenary for hire from crime lords with the funds to purchase his services. In the film, Ma-Ma bribes him and the three other corrupt judges Alvarez, Chan, and Kaplan to kill Dredd. Their cover was blown when Chan attacks and is murdered by Dredd, the film's title protagonist. Dredd then kills Alvarez yet he runs out of ammunition, while Lez shoots him on the torso. He moves in to kill Dredd however he takes him long enough for Anderson to arrive and then kill Lex.
