The time stream was the pathway for the movement of time, usually in relation to individual peoples or planets. In Sonic the Comic, Amy Rose and Tekno the Canary arrived near the Time Stream in time for 1999 to enter the stream. Unfortunately, 1930 had gone crazy and wished for time to be restored to how he remembers it, threatening all of time and summoning the Time Waster. Before the ghost could achieve his task, Amy convinced him not to and 1999 was free to enter as usual. The time stream was a supposedly natural and divine body of water on Ashlan Four that allowed selectively trained individuals to view the historical timeline of the universe and, if possible, view certain historical events as an impartial observer. It was located in a large river the base of the mountains near the Whill Monastery. Although it was unknown to most people in the galaxy, the timeline allowed trained individuals to look at not only the timeline of the galaxy, but of the entire universe. Aboard the NX-class starship Enterprise, Daniels used the phrase "time stream" to refer to the fluctuations in the timeline that resulted in the alternate timelines that were created when the Temporal Cold War turned into an all-out conflict. Before the ghost could achieve his task, Amy convinced him not to and 1999 was free to enter as usual. It is isn't explained what happens to the new spirit after they enter the Time Stream. At some point before the next New Year, the last spirit to enter the stream must somehow return to the spirits' world, as 1998 was already there, despite having enter the Time Stream almost twelve months ago. The time stream was the pathway for the movement of time, usually in relation to individual peoples or planets. Aboard the NX-class starship Enterprise, Daniels used the phrase "time stream" to refer to the fluctuations in the timeline that resulted in the alternate timelines that were created when the Temporal Cold War turned into an all-out conflict. (ENT: "Storm Front") During his attempt to commandeer the USS Discovery on stardate 2136.8 using temporal loops, Harry Mudd noted that ending the loops and allowing the Discovery to rejoin the time stream would be an irreversible action. After he did, the time crystal he used to generate the loops disintegrated. (DIS: "Magic to Make the Sanest Man Go Mad") In 2371, Harry Kim intersected with a time stream while piloting the shuttlecraft Drake in the Delta Quadrant. This had the effect of changing history in that Harry was never assigned to the USS Voyager and instead had a position at Starfleet Headquarters in San Francisco. While in this alternate timeline, Harry met an alien from a temporal inversion fold in the spacetime matrix, who had taken the form of a Human named Cosimo. Cosimo detailed to Harry the events which led to the creation of the alternate timeline, and informed him that the time stream, which wove throughout the galaxy like a thread, could be intersected again, possibly repairing the damage to the timeline. If not, he could be sent before the formation of life on Earth or a billion years into the future. With the help of the alternative Tom Paris, Harry was able to locate and fly into the time stream, recreating the exact conditions which resulted in the change to history in the first place, and undoing the alterations to the timeline. (VOY: "Non Sequitur") The time stream was a supposedly natural and divine body of water on Ashlan Four that allowed selectively trained individuals to view the historical timeline of the universe and, if possible, view certain historical events as an impartial observer. It was located in a large river the base of the mountains near the Whill Monastery. Although it was unknown to most people in the galaxy, the timeline allowed trained individuals to look at not only the timeline of the galaxy, but of the entire universe. Despite the ability to briefly view historical events by looking at the stream, it was not the only way to use the time stream. If someone with the ability to read the stream stepped within a segment of the stream containing a historical event, it would appear to them as if time on Ashlan Four would stop. They would then become an impartial and unseen observer in that time period, unless they wished to intervene, and could watch the events unfold as they had either thousands of years earlier or thousands of years into the future. The only person who had the ability to enter into the time stream or bring others into with him was Ussej Padric Bac, the Shaman of the Whills.
