Renji aspires to be the greatest swordmen of the world however he does have other goals, as he also wishes to stop the World Government that he despises a lot, as Renji has a strong sense of justice and humanitarianism, this is why he can't stand some of the World Government's methods such as slavery and racisme against fishmen, that is the main reason to why he joined Underworld Goverment an organization that plans to take down the World Government.
