[[File:Hootwhisker.warrior.png]] Ok I edited it. Looks MUCH better than the old one, the shading is much better,i added a pupil, i erased the waste, and i blurred the ears. PoppyShine (talk) 22:54, May 29, 2015 (UTC)PoppyShine Hey, it's gotta match Hootwhisker's apprentice if I recall correctly..--Nachtide The Wikian Squad 07:04, May 21, 2015 (UTC) You misnamed it, it should be named Hootwhisker.warrior.png. Other than that, match his apprentice image as Nachtide said, smooth out the shading, clear the waste, blur the earpink and define light on the legs. 07:35, May 21, 2015 (UTC) Don't align your images. It messes up the page. There is also texture to match. Define and darken your shading. This should also be titled 'For Evaluation' instead of 'For Approval' since its your first image. Storm♫ 11:24, May 21, 2015 (UTC) He also doesnt appear to have a pupil... Define eye depth as well Storm♫ 12:53, May 21, 2015 (UTC) Actually, since it looks like the redo nomination for the apprentice is going to pass, I'm not adding texture, so that's fine. But isn't this a bit smaller than the usual warrior blank? 14:39, May 21, 2015 (UTC) It has the right size to me, but the lineart is covered on some parts. 15:00, May 21, 2015 (UTC) It does seem to be covered in some places -are your other layers under the lineart? Also, there seems to be a random black dot between the ears. Can you either blur it if it's shading, or get rid of it? 20:23, May 21, 2015 (UTC) I just realized "the random black dot" is a disconnected part of the lineart, so don't get rid of it. Can you expose the lineart though, like I said above? 20:22, May 22, 2015 (UTC) Don't align your images .-. He still needs a pupil. Blur the earpink a bit more as well as the shading Storm♫ 01:08, May 23, 2015 (UTC) How am i aligning them, it looks normal to me, the pupil and shading and earpink i get. PoppyShine (talk) 01:37, May 23, 2015 (UTC)PoppyShine When you post an image it should be File:Example.warrior.png what you are doing is File:Example.warrior.png|left which messes up the structure of the page. Storm♫ 01:40, May 23, 2015 (UTC) The lineart seems to be covered still. Are you using layers? If so, make sure the lineart is above the other layers. If not, I highly suggest that you do - it would be a lot easier. Other than that, define the eye depth, I can't see any. 12:15, May 23, 2015 (UTC) It still has a lot of waste around the image. Storm♫ 21:42, May 23, 2015 (UTC) Say you reuploaded it everything you reupload :P 00:57, May 25, 2015 (UTC) There's waste above the ear. Also, I'm having trouble seeing the shading, perhaps define it a bit? My phone's real crappy, so again it might be just my screen 10:53, May 25, 2015 (UTC) I redid the apprentice - the base colour is 424242, and that's not texture - it's just how I did the shading. If you want to make similar shading, Poppy, I used a 1px brush and used fairly large circular smudging movements. Of course you don't have to if you don't want to, I believe. 14:40, May 25, 2015 (UTC) I agree with Snowsplash, I'm having trouble seeing shading as well. Darken and define it please. Also I still don't see a pupil in his eye. Define the depth of the eye as well. Storm♫ 22:50, May 25, 2015 (UTC) Define/add shading to his right/our left ear and tail. And Snowsplash, I see the waste too, just above the left ear 03:25, May 26, 2015 (UTC) Add pupils, you can see some of mine for reference. 03:32, May 26, 2015 (UTC) xD, since my computer screen was soooooo messy at that time, I thought the waste was just from my computer screen. PoppyShine (talk) 18:12, May 26, 2015 (UTC)PoppyShine Define Shading 23:59, May 26, 2015 (UTC) Move the earpink up a bit? ~Skiddley Riddley ♫ ♪ 01:57, May 27, 2015 (UTC) I still see waste above the ear. Storm♫ 02:35, May 27, 2015 (UTC) Move the earpink slightly upwards, define shading on the tail perhaps^^ 13:10, May 27, 2015 (UTC) There's a bit of waste in front of the back paw closest to us. Storm♫ 16:32, May 28, 2015 (UTC) There's also waste in front of the chest 21:39, May 28, 2015 (UTC) Poppy, you have to say that you reuploaded it when you edit the charart at the bottom of the comments. And please stop aligning your image. It messes up the structure of the page. If you need help, just ask me on my talk page. Also theres still waste in front of the back paw I mentioned earlier. Storm♫ 01:08, May 29, 2015 (UTC) Ok, I edited it and cleared the waste. I always name the charact Hootwhisker.warrior, how is this happening? PoppyShine (talk) 01:31, May 29, 2015 (UTC)PoppyShine You keep adding "thumb|left" onto the end of your file. If you go into source code editing instead of just visual editor, then you should be able to see it. When you upload a picture, just upload it regularly. It should say just File:Example.warrior.png. You're putting File:Example.warrior.png|thumb|left which messes up the page. As for the image, define the light on the back paw closest to us. Storm♫ 01:45, May 29, 2015 (UTC) How do you define the light? PoppyShine (talk) 02:09, May 29, 2015 (UTC)PoppyShine Erase some of the shading, since the apprentice image that you have to match doesn't have highlights. Oh speaking of which, I think you need to match the texture/shading style that the apprentice image shows as well. Storm♫ 02:16, May 29, 2015 (UTC) How can i do that? I use Pixlr..... PoppyShine (talk) 04:14, May 29, 2015 (UTC)PoppyShine Storm, there is no need to match the shading style. Also, Sorrel said that the "texture" was the smudged shading. As for this image, please define the light source. I suggest using GIMP instead of Pixlr, as it's waaaaaay better. 11:24, May 29, 2015 (UTC) Well..... Storm♫ 19:17, June 3, 2015 (UTC) Just asking, is there supposed to be texture? I thought Sorrel removed it when she redid the apprentice 22:42, June 4, 2015 (UTC) She did, you're right. PoppyShine (talk) 23:56, June 4, 2015 (UTC)PoppyShine Poppy please dont align your image. I've told you how to not align them two times. As for the image itself, please define the light on the legs, head, and tail. Also I see that you seem to be just adding block shading around the edges of the image. Please look at the Apprentice Tutorials to get a better view on how to shade the warrior image. Storm♫ 00:09, June 5, 2015 (UTC) Smooth out the shading a bit more. 00:32, June 5, 2015 (UTC) Alright I reuploaded it. PoppyShine (talk) 02:16, June 6, 2015 (UTC)PoppyShine Did you check the apprentice tutorials I linked? If not, I strongly recommend it as the shading does appear to be the same as last time. Storm♫ 13:17, June 6, 2015 (UTC) Yeah, and you can also look at other examples of warrior images for your shading placement :) The shading still could be blurred a little more, take a hard edged blur tool and blur the edges of the shading real good. 01:56, June 7, 2015 (UTC) Also, blur your earpink just a little more. 01:00, June 8, 2015 (UTC) Still working? I hope I'm not coming off as rude... 17:17, June 12, 2015 (UTC) You still appear to not be following my advice. You need to look at the apprentice tutorials i linked above and fix your shading and define your light source. With that said, define the light on the chest, legs, and flank. Add some shading on the tail and haunches please Storm♫ 17:29, June 12, 2015 (UTC) WHAT?!I just redid the whole thing all together and copied the shading perfectly! PoppyShine (talk) 01:21, June 13, 2015 (UTC)PoppyShine Also I looked at the apprentice pixel and it still had some texture, I'm fine with the way the apprentice looks, I honestly think my best one is the textured one. PoppyShine (talk) 02:33, June 13, 2015 (UTC)PoppyShine The apprentice pixel does not have texture. It is smudged shading. Please remove your texture and in the future, please dont say that of other images. What you said is implying that the OA of the apprentice image is lower than you are and we dont take that kindly here. Im not yelling at you you just need to know not to make fun of/think lowly of other peoples art ok? Storm♫ 02:56, June 13, 2015 (UTC) No,no,no I'm talking about how my textured-looking one is better than the rest of my art, I wasnt making fun of the apprentice image.I think that the apprentice art looks better than mine, but it turns out I copied the older one with the texture that time.PoppyShine (talk) 03:08, June 13, 2015 (UTC)PoppyShine That's not what she was implying. She was saying that her best image was the one with the texture, not that hers was better than Sorrel's image. Storm, please stop with these kinds of comments- you are not a lead, therefore you honestly do need to chill out. You've been told about this and it's starting to borderline on annoying. You are still a newer warrior, so please, leave the enforcement of the rules to the leads of the project. Poppy, as nice as your image is, Sorrel has said before that her image no longer has texture, so you will need to remove it- as her image was approved first, that is the one that all other images in the set are required to match- it's not that no one likes your image, it's just part of the rules. If you're not sure what shading is supposed to look like on these blanks, you can ask one of the more experienced members and we'll be more than glad to help you out. =) The apprentice tutorials are vastly outdated and only show limited options for sources, and even then, some of them are not entirely accurate. It looks like you're trying to use the light source coming from the bottom.. Why not look at Whitefang's warrior, Graymist's warrior, or Birchfall's warrior for examples on how to use that source? If you're still unable to understand, then come and ask one of us. There is nothing wrong with asking for help. What tool do I use to define shading on Pixlr? Do you think I should remake the image?rPoppyShine (talk) 22:12, June 14, 2015 (UTC)PoppyShine Here it is, I defined shading and hopefully this looks much better! PoppyShine (talk) 14:08, June 15, 2015 (UTC)PoppyShine Poppy please stop aligning your image. Define the shading on the neck and blur the shading a bit more please. Also the lineart appears to be blurry. Did you use layers? Theres waste by the tail and in the triangle hole too Storm♫ 14:17, June 15, 2015 (UTC) I don't know how to stop my images from aligning. Please stop blaming me for this, I'm not trying to align the images. PoppyShine (talk) 19:14, June 15, 2015 (UTC)PoppyShine Ok, here it is, this wonderful piece of art has everything. :D Hopefully my image isn't aligned,i checked on its coding and it seemed fine. PoppyShine (talk) 23:42, June 15, 2015 (UTC)PoppyShine There's a lot of waste around the image. And when you check the coding, make sure it doesn't have anything after the .png in the file name, like thumb or something. Dull down the base color a bit, you made it too dark. Define the shading and light on the body as well. Storm♫ 23:45, June 15, 2015 (UTC) Here! Done it quickly xD! PoppyShine (talk) 00:04, June 16, 2015 (UTC)PoppyShine There's still waste around the image. By the tail, paws, head...etc. Storm♫ 00:22, June 16, 2015 (UTC) Alright I found the tiny specks of waste (which was hard) and the large lines of waste and erased them from the picture. PoppyShine (talk) 00:37, June 16, 2015 (UTC)PoppyShine You're getting there! There's still some specks of waste here and there. There's some up above the lineart. The best thing to do is on pixlr (idk if its the same thing as my program, but...) is select the lineart layer in the list of layers. Then use the selection tool in the toolbar, looks like a little wand. Then you click on the outside of the image. The outside of the whole image should have a shiny band thing around it. Next step is to click on the base color layer. Then click on the eraser and erase everything on that layer, and then de-select everything, and viola! As for the rest of the image, could you add some shading to the back of the haunches, along the neck and head, as well as the back of the tail? If you need some help, you can look at one of the other warrior images, such as Archeye's warrior or Sorrelstripe's warrior. If you need any more help, leave me a message on my talk page and I'll be glad to help! Storm♫ 00:46, June 16, 2015 (UTC) Considering her light source, I don't think she needs shading in those places. 01:06, June 16, 2015 (UTC) Finished!PoppyShine (talk) 01:38, June 16, 2015 (UTC)PoppyShine Could you add some light on the legs/paws Poppy? Also idk if it's just me but it looks like there's some kind of texture? Storm♫ 17:04, June 16, 2015 (UTC) I didn't add any texturePoppyShine (talk) 07:01, June 17, 2015 (UTC)PoppyShine I dunno it still looks a bit odd to me. Like you used a spray tool, it looks kinda blotchy? idk if that's the right word. It might be my screen. Storm♫ 12:55, June 17, 2015 (UTC) It doesn't seem like I need to define shading anywhere, but i guess I need to darken the neck shading. Do you agree? PoppyShine (talk) 01:35, June 18, 2015 (UTC)PoppyShine Yes you do need to define shading everywhere on the image. Are you looking at the examples that we are providing to you? Storm♫ 01:37, June 18, 2015 (UTC) Yep and I color picked from the apprentice image. PoppyShine (talk) 01:41, June 18, 2015 (UTC)PoppyShine Here, I defined the shading. PoppyShine (talk) 17:03, June 18, 2015 (UTC)PoppyShine It doesn't look defined on the file history. It just looks like you just lightened the shading. Defining shading/anything means that you need to add some more shading, or add shading depth. Usually defining light is just erasing some shading or adding a highlight. Storm♫ 17:24, June 18, 2015 (UTC) I have no idea on how to define shading it doesnt really tell you on the apprentice guide thingy.PoppyShine (talk) 17:52, June 18, 2015 (UTC)PoppyShine But I just told you how. Storm♫ 17:54, June 18, 2015 (UTC) No, Im talking about the tool. PoppyShine (talk) 17:56, June 18, 2015 (UTC)PoppyShine Um, there isn't a 'Shading Defining' tool. You have to do it via one of the ways Storm told you. 19:18, June 18, 2015 (UTC) Blur the head shading. 12:58, June 20, 2015 (UTC) You've had this image for over a month, and as per the guidelines, I have to decline this. So I'm pretty sure it has been a month? 12:24, June 21, 2015 (UTC) Uh I actually agree with Bramble, she put it up for approval on the 29th so I think she still has 8 days? 12:56, June 21, 2015 (UTC) No. She posted it on the 21st.
