Stormrider is an exceptional unique Tabar, a type of axe from Diablo II: Lord of Destruction. Similar to other "Storm" items like Stormspire or Stormchaser, Stormrider bestows a rather large Lightning Damage boost, as well as a chance to cast several high level Lightning Spells. Although powerful, Stormrider loses some of its bite against enemies immune to lightning, as some in Hell difficulty are. StormRider was a large-scale motion simulator attraction at Tokyo DisneySea in Japan. It opened on September 4, 2001 together with the park. The attraction is similar to Star Tours at the Tokyo Disneyland. In the attraction, guests fly into the center of a storm aboard a StormRider, a flying weather laboratory. But a storm diffuser gets hit by a thunderbolt and flies out of control. On May 19, 2015 it was announced that StormRider will be replaced by a simulator known as Nemo & Friends SeaRider, based on Finding Dory with a closing date set to be in May 16, 2016. Stormriders are hostile lightning revenants found in the Storm Peaks. The following is a list of notable engagements that Stormrider has taken part in: * Vengeance for Gnosis (786.M41) - Logan Grimnar atop Stormrider leads the Space Wolves against a warhost of Eldar from the Craftworld of Saim-Hann on the planet Gnosis Prime. Arriving nearly an entire standard year after the beginning of the war, the Space Wolves were unable to save the people of Gnosis, instead fighting a war to avenge them. * Tombs of Midgardia (933.M41) - Seeking a shard of Nyadra'zatha that had escaped his collection millennia ago, Trazyn the Infinite, Necron Overlord and self-proclaimed Archaeovist of the Solemnace Galleries on the Necron Tomb World of Solemnace, came to the Fenrisian world of Midgardia to acquire the shard. Logan Grimnar and the Space Wolves would not suffer the Fast and versatile, the Stormrider has a strong airframe and is armed with a single, omni-directional plasma cannon with an unlimited power supply. This weapon is capable of engaging both ground and airborne targets but suffers from a relatively weak power output. Stormriders are usually only capable of causing significant damage in groups of four or more. It is an ideal, if expensive, unit for scouting because of its high speed and ability to bypass obstacles as an air unit.

Fast and versatile, the Stormrider has a strong airframe and is armed with a single, omni-directional plasma cannon with an unlimited power supply. The Stormrider's name is derived from observations made by GDI field operatives, who noticed that the craft operated more effectively in an ion storm. The Scrin possess the technology to generate a localized ion storm at will, which is outfitted on board their Planetary Assault Carriers and Storm Column base defenses. While human technology takes damage from ion storms, all Scrin air units, including the Devastator Warships, can utilize these storms to gain a tremendous boost in protection as well as self-repair. Because of this, groups of Carriers and Warships escorted by groups of Stormriders are an exceptionally powerful combination. The Stormriders bear a striking resemblance to the now retired Nod Banshee, which was known to have been based on reverse-engineered Scrin technology. Therefore, there are those who assume that the Stormrider was the basis upon which the Banshee was developed. Logan Grimnar and the Space Wolves would not suffer the presence of an enemy of the Emperor so close to the Chapter's homeworld, and mustered their forces to war. Logan rode upon Stormrider for much of the planetside battle on Midgardia, disembarking only to enter an ancient Necron tomb pyramid to face Trazyn. * Riders of the Storm (988.M41) - Logan Grimnar, majestic atop Stormrider, leads his Great Company in the charge that finally breaks the Necron phalanxes of Imotekh the Stormlord on Vhaloth IV.
