Standard is a classification of cars from Gran Turismo 5 to denote the level to which it has been designed, and how damage will be processed. In Gran Turismo 6, Standard cars were known as Simple, with a few exceptions (The Audi R8 Race Car '01 and Toyota 7 Race Car '70, both Standard cars, were known as Detailed). In Gran Turismo 6, Standard cars were known as Simple, with a few exceptions (The Audi R8 Race Car '01 and Toyota 7 Race Car '70, both Standard cars, were known as Detailed). The only downside to these cars is that they have no gallery view. The key characteristic of a standard car is that it can only be bought in the Used Car Dealership or the Online Car Dealership, and will therefore only be available at random intervals. In contrast to the same cars on the previous Gran Turismo Games, The Gran Turismo 4 and Gran Turismo PSP exceptions are that the Nike One 2022, Toyota Motor Triathlon Race Car '04, Ford Model T Tourer '15, Mercedes-Benz Patent Motor Wagen 1886, and Mercedes-Benz Daimler Motor Carriage 1886 are absent in the game. Premium Cars can be bought at any time. Features of a standard car include: * No detailed in-car view (silhouette dashboard from Spec 2.0 update, open wheel cars are an exception) * Physics damage (affects car performance) * Scratches, dents, dirt accumulation (minor damage) * No serious cosmetic damage * Vehicular roll over * Headlights: Standard beam only * No reverse lights (only effect on ground at night time) * No windshield wipers At time of press, there are 810 Standard Cars in Gran Turismo 5.
