In 2009, Doctor Jennifer Keller and Ronon Dex of the Atlantis expedition visits PX5-442 to negotiate with the Wraith named Guide for information on the captured Doctor Rodney McKay. While they are there, Wraith loyal to Queen Death arrive. Terminally ill and desperate for the "dead gods" to heal her, Carlin's sister decides to turn Keller and Ronon over to them so that she can get the Gift of Life from Queen Death whom she views as the greatest of the "dead gods." Carlin's sister pretends that Guide has sent her to retrieve the two then holds a gun to Ronon's back while Keller tries and fails to talk her down, noticing her obviously ill state. Keller talks Carlin's sister into tying them up and retrieves a stun grenade while fetching rope from her backpack. After pretending to tie up Ronon

After recovering from the grenade, Keller checks on the woman and finds that there is nothing she can do to help her. When Guide arrives, he is displeased by her betrayal as Carlin had promised him that his sister was trustworthy and Guide announces his intention to make his displeasure with her betrayal known to Carlin. Despite Carlin's sister's actions, Keller recognizes that she was just desperate and asks if Guide can heal her. However, Guide refuses as she has betrayed him and he would've killed her if she had survived for her actions anyway. (SGA: "The Lost")
