Probe Entertainment Ltd is a British video game studio in Croydon, England. It was founded in 1984 as Probe Software by Fergus McGovern and Vakis Paraskeva, later renamed Probe Entertainment. They were acquired by Acclaim Entertainment Inc. on October 10, 1995. In 1999, Probe Entertainment became Acclaim Studios London and a year later, changed to Acclaim Studios Cheltenham. Their USA based parent company, Acclaim, declared bankruptcy in 2004. Probe Entertainment Ltd was re-opened on the 3rd August 2009.
